About Us

Aliança Empreendedora was founded in 2005 with the goal of training and supporting formal and informal micro-entrepreneurs who find themselves in economic vulnerability all over Brazil.

2021

The Credit Hub, an Aliança Empreendedora platform that facilitates the search and access to credit for micro-entrepreneurs, placed 3rd in the event “Desafio de Acesso Ao Crédito” (Challenge to Credit Access) and was awarded with an acceleration program.

2020

Tamo Junto, Aliança Empreendedora’s learning platform, was recognized and awarded in four categories of the MIT Solve’s Global Challenges.

2018

We developed Empreender 360 in partnership with Bank of America Merrill Lynch with aims to strengthen the support system available to Brazilian micro-entrepreneurs through knowledge, articulation, and advocacy.

2017

Aliança Empreendedora celebrates the mark of 64 496 micro-entrepreneurs impacted. We adapted our in-person methodology to online in order to fulfill the increasing online presence of people from the lowest income brackets.

2016

In partnership with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, we started to map out public, private, and mixed organizations that support the creation and strengthening of micro-entreprises in Brazil.

2014

We present our plan for international expansion in India, England, and Spain, through events promoted by Ashoka.

2013

We received the “Centennial Innovation Challenge” award from the Rockefeller Foundation for the project “Uma mensagem para a Liberdade” (A message to Liberty), a project aimed at combating working conditions analogous to slavery in the fashion industry in São Paulo.

2012

We launched the 2º Prêmio Aliança de Empreendedorismo Comunitário (Community Enterprise Awards) and launched the first crowdfunding site aimed at micro-entrepreneurs in Brazil.

2011

Invited by the TV show “Caldeirão do Huck”, at Rede Globo, we co-created the “Mandando Bem” segment, a series of episodes that identified, supported and invested in the necessary infrastructure for low-income micro-entrepreneurs.

2010

We were elected Brazil’s most trusted NGO in the “Income Generation” category by Reader’s Digest. We also participated as members in the “Clinton Global Initiative” in New York.

2009

We developed with Santander Bank the project “Parceiros em Ação” (Partners in Action). 10 NGOs were selected from over 300 applications from all over Brazil. For two years we provided support in implementing our methodology, investment and follow-up.

2008

We expanded our operations to the city of São Paulo and were finalists in the “Prêmio Empreendedor Social” (Social Entrepreneurship Award) promoted by Folha de São Paulo and the Schwab Foundation.

2007

One of our founders, Rodrigo de Mello Brito, was selected as an Ashoka Fellow and we won our first national award, Visionais UBS.

2006

We opened offices in São Paulo and Recife, as the result of a partnership with Fundação Alphaville, as well as expanding our reach to other communities in Curitiba.

2005

Aliança Empreendedora was founded in Curitiba (PR). With support from organs like FIEP, SESI, and Fundação Alphaville, we started our first projects with micro-entrepreneurs as well as the first Recycling Cooperative in the city.

Recognition

We believe in the power of Brazilian micro-entrepreneurs, and for us, all Brazilians can become entrepreneurs through fair relations.

We develop free courses and training for entrepreneurs, we conduct studies and research about Brazilian micro-entrepreneurship, and we act as consultants for companies in a wide range of segments in the co-creation of new products and services for social causes focused on micro-entrepreneurship. Such projects also help in the dissemination of the cause, proving that enterprising really is for all.

Besides these, other important recognitions, national and international, were earned throughout our history and we remain steady on the way to always bettering ourselves and our work.
